It tried to rain on us all night, but that didn't dampen
our spirits!
So the weather wasn't the best, but I can say
with confidence that I believe everyone who attended the
fall party had a great time in spite of the weather. This
year the party was at Elaine Nichelson's house again and a
big order or thanks goes out to Elaine and her family for
preparing for the event in many ways. The night started out
with everyone gathering around the firepit and just getting
to know each other a little better as there were quite a
few new faces at this event. It was great to meet all the
people that came out to this event. We then had a great
chilli dinner (Thanks Mrs. Nichelson!) and ate around the
fire. Next it was off on a hayride, courtesy of Mr.
Nichelson, and as you can imagine it didn't take too long
before the hay was flying. Once we arrived back at the
Nichelson's place we organized into teams and started our
pumpkin carving contest. It was fun to see the different
ideas that everyone had and every group came up with a very
unique idea. Once all the teams were finished we displayed
the pumpkins in the Nichelson's pumpkin garden (see the
pictures below). After that it was time for the famed "eat
a donut off a string without dropping it on the ground"
(for lack of a better name) contest. A crossroads fall
party just wouldn't be the same without this event! It was
hilarious to watch as everyone crammed their mouths full of
those delicious(?) donuts. We had a couple people drop
their donuts, some kept going and others had to draw the
line. I can still see Tim with his mouth full of nice
mixture of donut and leaves! All in all it was a great
evening filled with many great memories. Be sure to check
out the calendar for our next event.
